Our last Kangaroo Island tour for the year, we departing Adelaide on the 14th November, 2016 as we travel via the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis where we boarded the SeaLink ferry to Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island.
Our first stop was at Frenchman’s Rock named after the first explorer, Frenchman, Nicholas Baudin to mark their landing and where they found water.
Our next stop was at the historic Maritime & Folk Museum (once the Hog Bay school) where Graham, who has a long family heritage on the island, gave a very informative talk to our group on the history of the first settlers to the island.
Across the road is the Visitor Centre where we viewed the original rock which was carved by the crew of Nicholas Baudin to mark their landing.
Some great information at this centre including some wonderful local produce and gifts.
